Robert was a Woolen Spinner/ Manufacturer working at Netherwitton.
Robert died on 13 November 1899 aged 51 of exhaustion of an accidental death whilst intoxicated.
He has attended the Linden Greyhound Coursing about 6 miles from the village on the Saturday 11 November. John Cowan found Robert on the on the side of the road 3.1/8 mile outside the village cold and wet and insecible on the Sunday and took him home in his cart. He sadly never regained consciousness and died on the Monday.
